The current treatment guidelines and standard of care (SOC) from the Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) and the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO) for newly diagnosed GBM (ndGBM) is maximal safe tumor resection, followed by radiation therapy with concomitant and then adjuvant temozolomide (TMZ) chemotherapy, with emphasis on patients with methylated O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) and good Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS). This evidence concerns the gene MGMT and glioblastoma.
