In light of the above background, we tried to evaluate pharmacodynamically the pathophysiological role of exogenously administered adiponectin with PPAR-γ agonists in attenuating oxidative stress and arterial stiffness with a variation in metabolic and systemic factors including blood pressure, glycemia, and hypertriglyceridemia in streptozotocin- (STZ-) induced SHRs employing both in vivo and in vitro parameters. This evidence concerns the gene ADIPOQ and hypertriglyceridemia.
