Plasma triglyceride concentrations were higher in control SHRs as compared to control WKY during the treatment period, whereas STZ treatment aggravates the condition in a genetic model of hypertensive rats, leading to a further significant increase in plasma triglyceride, LDL, and total serum cholesterol, with a decrease in adiponectin and HDL plasma concentrations, indicating anthropometric and physiological disorders. This evidence concerns the gene ADIPOQ and hypertensive disorder.
