Through pig breeds-conserved HMRs in sperms compared with testis, we observed several conserved HMRs between pig sperm and testis close to or located in the promoter regions of important genes involved in spermatogenesis, such as EXOSC10 and HSPA9. EXOSC10 is a well-known target of autoantibodies in patients with systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) (Staals and Pruijn, 2010). This evidence concerns the gene HSPA9 and systemic sclerosis.
