Sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, the second-line treatment for type 2 diabetes (T2D) with their pleiotropic metabolic effects [1–5], offer robust benefits with an approximately 30% reduction in risk of hospitalization for heart failure (hHF) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) [6–16].
