The most highly enriched gene sets upregulated in the cerebral endothelia of ApoE4 mice by elevated mCRP reflected changes in pathways including (1) oxidative phosphorylation, (2) mitochondria metabolism/respiration, (3) mTORC1 signaling, and (4) Alzheimer's disease; in contrast, these pathways were downregulated by mCRP in the endothelia of ApoE2 brains. The gene discussed is APOE; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
