Because CRP levels increase with age (Stephensen & Gildengorin, 2000; Tao et al., 2018) and mCRP plays a role in the pathogenesis of peripheral vascular diseases including cardiovascular diseases (Wang et al., 2015) and poststroke inflammation (Slevin et al., 2010), we hypothesized that mCRP plays some roles causing cerebrovascular pathology for the vascular risk of AD.
