All conventional criteria for identifying monogenic diabetes (parental diabetes, not requiring insulin treatment, HbA1c ≤ 58 mmol/mol [≤7.5%] and a composite clinical probability of MODY >10%) assisted the identification of the dominant (all p ≤ 0.0003) but not recessive cases (all p ≥ 0.2) in Turkey. This evidence concerns the gene INS and diabetes mellitus.
