Moreover, its highly upregulated expression in inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, as well as in various cancers [14,63,65], may suggest that this ADAM15-mediated mechanosignaling also occurs in cell types different from (synovial) fibroblasts, contributing to infiltrative growth and the perpetuation of tissue inflammation. Here, ADAM15 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
