In this respect, AT1R-B2R-transgenic mice mimic major established risk factors of preeclampsia, which also trigger vascular dysfunction, e.g., hypertension, diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, and autoimmune diseases, which cause damage to blood vessels, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, or hyper-coagulation such as the antiphospholipid syndrome [17,18,19]. This evidence concerns the gene AGTR1 and preeclampsia.
