It has been reported that the presence of specific alleles of single-nucleotide polymorphism and a 3-SNP haplotype (A-C-C) in the human gene CACNG2 (encoding for the voltage-dependent calcium channel gamma subunit 2 or stargazin) enhances the risk of pain chronicization after mastectomy due to breast cancer [10]. This evidence concerns the gene CACNG2 and breast carcinoma.
