As has been previously reported, DG-enriched fractions of Maqui fruit and blueberries ameliorate insulin resistance in a high-fat diet-induced metabolic syndrome murine model [17,24] and DS (at a 100 μg/mL dose) increases insulin-mediated glucose uptake in cultured L6 muscle cells [18], thus unveiling a potential scenario for the use of anthocyanins in metabolic syndrome.
