Systemic studies using mouse models of ZIKV infection have shown that anti-interferon-α/β receptor (IFNAR) monoclonal antibody-treated wild type animals, but also Ifnar1−/− knockout mice, as well as Stat2−/−, or Irf3−/−Irf5−/−Irf7−/− triple knockout mice, can die from ZIKV infections; while opposite was the effect upon the wild-type, Irf3−/−, Irf5−/−, Mavs−/−, Tmem173(STING)−/−, and Mb21d1 (cGAS)−/− mice [66,67,68,69,70]. The gene discussed is IFNAR1; the disease is Zika virus infectious disease.
