In CPA, the IL-1B (2.4 ± 1.03 vs. 1.0 ± 0.8 pg/mL, p = 0.001), TNF-α (10.9 ± 4.8 vs. 5.0 ± 3.9 pg/mL, p = 0.001), and visual severity (r2 = 0.19, p = 0.026) were higher in patients who died than in surviving patients. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and congenital primary aphakia.
