CELF1, also referred to as CUG-binding protein 1 (CUGBP1), is found mostly in the heart, skeletal muscle, and brain, and has been linked to myotonic dystrophy type 1 [51,52,53], muscle wasting [26], and Alzheimer’s disease [54,55], as well as multiple cancers. The gene discussed is CELF1; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
