Du et al. (2015) have demonstrated that the combination of quercetin and transfecting human gastric cancer cell lines with miR-143, which was initially downregulated in the cancer cells, inhibited autophagy via GABARAPL1 (ATG-8) suppression and increased the chemosensitivity of the cells towards quercetin [172]. This evidence concerns the gene GABARAPL1 and gastric cancer.
