Members of the ezrin/radixin/moesin (ERM) family of proteins crosslink the actin cytoskeleton and various plasma membrane proteins, such as several drug transporters, including P-glycoprotein (P-gp), multidrug resistant protein (MRP)-2, and MRP-3 [30,31,32], and other cancer-related proteins, including epidermal growth factor receptor 2 [33]. The gene discussed is ETV5; the disease is cancer.
