Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-C is a key factor in the regulation of lymphangiogenesis [9,10], as increasingly higher levels of VEGF-C expression stimulate LEC-associated lymphangiogenesis and the metastatic potential of chondrosarcoma cells, while VEGF-C expression is significantly higher in human chondrosarcoma tissue than in normal cartilage [11,12]. This evidence concerns the gene VEGFC and chondrosarcoma.
