Intriguingly, combined positive status for both Stat5 gene amplification and high Stat5 protein level was independently associated with shorter disease-free survival in univariate analysis and was an independent predictor of PC recurrence in multivariate analysis when compared to the variables of the Cancer of Prostate Risk Assessment Postsurgical nomogram (CAPRA-S) [55]. The gene discussed is STAT5B; the disease is pachyonychia congenita.
