Therefore, we investigated the therapeutic effects of Cimicifugae Rhizoma on ovalbumin (OVA)-induced asthma and analyzed the expression of proteins including Nrf2, HO-1, NQO1, MMP-9, and NF-κB, focusing on antioxidant functions, to elucidate the mechanism of action of Cimicifugae Rhizoma in order to prove its potential as an asthma treatment. This evidence concerns the gene HMOX1 and asthma.
