IL-1β expression increased with age in a young mice study [45], and our patients had significant differences in age between groups; thus, age was adjusted on the analysis of the cytokine expression in the urine specimens, and the results revealed that IL-1β was significantly lower in KD patients, compared with the UTI group, and there was no significant difference between pre- and post-IVIG treatment. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and bacterial urinary tract infection.
