IRF1 and COVID-19: Regarding the expression of IRF1, a molecule well known to directly bind and impact the ISRE [12], we found no difference between healthy controls and patients with COVID‐19 irrespective of severity in T cells, and IgD+CD27−, IgD+CD27+, IgD−CD27+, and IgD−CD27− B cells while in CD14+ monocytes and plasmablasts, IRF1 was significantly increased among patients with mild or severe COVID‐19 compared to healthy controls (Fig. 2D‐F).
