Our results agreed with a recent study published by Sheldon and Skaar where they demonstrated that the deletion of gene basG impairs growth on human serum, transferrin or lactoferrin as sole iron sources, and severely attenuates survival of A. baumannii ATCC 17978 in a murine bacteremia model (Sheldon and Skaar, 2020). This evidence concerns the gene TF and bacterial infectious disease with sepsis.
