They developed a panel of eight gene markers [Neutrophil cytosolic factor 2 (NCF2), Mitochondrial Inner Membrane Protein MPV17 (MPV17), S100 calcium-binding protein A6 (S100a6), Biglycan (BGN), Collagen type VI, α1 (COL6A1), Integrin β5 (ITGB5), Solute carrier family 13 member 3 (SLC13A3), and Dickkopf 3 (DKK3)] for the diagnosis of CKD progression that was confirmed by immunohistochemistry. This evidence concerns the gene SLC13A3 and chronic kidney disease.
