Hepatitis B virus does not directly damage liver cells, but the immune response and immunopathological reaction triggered by it are the keys to the onset of hepatitis B.28It has been shown that CD4+ cell count, CD4+/CD8+ ratio, and serum IL‐2 level were decreased in patients with chronic hepatitis B.29When immunosuppression or immunodeficiency occurs, the incidence of genital HPV infection and HPV‐related diseases increases. This evidence concerns the gene IL2 and chronic hepatitis B virus infection.
