Table 2 shows the predictors of the primary outcome of new-onset HF. Higher BNP or E/e′ level, lower eGFR level, and atrial fibrillation were the most robust risk factors of new-onset HF. Gender (male) and ACEI/ARB prescription were negative predictors of new-onset HF. Besides, subjects prescribed with ACEI/ARB showed a reduced possibility of new-onset HF in the Kaplan–Meier plot (log-rank test, p < 0.001, Figure 1); however, beta-blocker prescription did not result in a reduced risk of new-onset HF (log-rank test, p = 0.615, Figure 1).
