Some studies have shown that upregulated TGFBI can act as a tumor promoter in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (Ozawa et al., 2016), colon cancer (Ma et al., 2008), gastric cancer (Han et al., 2015), and bladder cancer (Bhagirath et al., 2012). This evidence concerns the gene TGFBI and urinary bladder cancer.
