Among the top five candidates with high FPKM value (Supplementary Fig. S1B), SNHG17 is the only one that was upregulated in all ten malignancies analyzed based on the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) data (Fig. 1D; Supplementary Fig. S1C), and a higher SNHG17 level was associated with shorter recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) of HCC patients (Fig. 1E; Supplementary Fig. S1D).
