Seven out of eight identified WC-associated CpGs were also associated with BMI at PFDR < 0.05, and two CpGs cg15103625 in RSRC1 and cg07421368 in ETAA1 were found novel in both WC and BMI associations, indicating common methylation sites influenced by both general and abdominal obesity. This evidence concerns the gene ETAA1 and Abdominal obesity.
