At day 14 p.i., H2-Db M187–195+ CD8+ T cells were identifiable in the lungs of both Bcl6WT and Bcl6ΔCD4 mice, although at a much lower proportion and frequency than was observed after infection of adult animals, fitting with previous observations of an altered, and reduced, CD8+ T cell hierarchy in neonatally infected mice (Ruckwardt et al., 2011; Fig. 2 C and Fig. S3 B). The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is infection.
