There are ongoing studies investigating SLFN11 as a patient stratification biomarker for PARP inhibitors in SCLC [36, 37], but SLFN11 could also be used to inform on patients resistant to DDA that may benefit from combinations of DDA with DNA damage response inhibitors such as WEE1, CHK1 and ATR inhibitors [11, 38]. This evidence concerns the gene ATR and small cell lung carcinoma.
