Recent studies suggesting a link between SLFN11 absence and PARP inhibitor resistance have attracted interest, but have typically been carried out in settings where BRCA mutations are rare, such as SCLC, and are complicated by the use of the PARP inhibitors in combination with DNA-damaging agents such as temozolomide [14, 15, 17, 35]. This evidence concerns the gene SLFN11 and small cell lung carcinoma.
