A cross-sectional study conducted by Artimani et al. on 21 females with PCOS undergoing Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) showed a higher concentration of follicular fluid levels of inflammatory markers including interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-8, and TNF-α and lower concentrations of IL-10, an anti-inflammatory interleukin compared to the control group [14]. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
