We observed that Slc5a9 expression was induced by MET, suggesting that MET may promote uptake of mannose, fructose and 1,5-anhydro-D-glucitol in the liver through induction of Slc5a9. In DIO mice, it was reported that Slc25a24 expression was increased in the white adipose tissues (WAT) of DIO mice during tissue expansion, and Slc25a24-knockout mice exhibited an obesity-resistant phenotype (33). Here, SLC5A9 is linked to obesity disorder.
