In radiation- induced pulmonary fibrosis in the mouse, the loss of Nrf2 impairs the recovery of lung fibrosis by inhibition of the Np63 stem/progenitor cell mobilization and promotion of the radio-induced myofibroblasts derived from alveolar type 2 cells (Traver et al., 2017). The gene discussed is GABPA; the disease is pulmonary fibrosis.
