As previously reported by academics, secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (sHLH) is an hyperinflammatory syndrome and often triggered by viral infections, which lead to unremitting fever, cytopenias, increased interleukin (IL)-2, IL-7, granulogytecolony stimulating factor, and interferon-γ–inducible protein 10 in patients with COVID-19 (Huang et al., 2020; Mehta et al., 2020). This evidence concerns the gene IL2 and viral infectious disease.
