We have shown previously that ∆40p53 is the mostly highly expressed p53 isoform in breast cancer, besides the full‐length p53α isoform, and that a high Δ40p53 : p53α ratio is associated with worse disease‐free survival in breast cancer patients, unveiling a link between ∆40p53 expression and p53 modulation endogenously [11].
