When being treated with three or more antihypertensive drugs including renin-angiotensin-aldosterone inhibitors, eighteen patients in the renal denervation group and 26 patients in the sham control group showed hyperaldosteronism (defined based on an aldosterone/renin ratio >200 [calculated as aldosterone concentration in pg/mL/plasma renin activity in ng/mL/h] and aldosterone concentration >120 pg/mL). This evidence concerns the gene REN and hyperaldosteronism.
