In our study, we found that voltage-gated calcium genes including Calcium Voltage-Gated Channel Subunit Alpha1 B (CACNA1B) (N-type calcium channel), Calcium Voltage-Gated Channel Subunit Alpha1 E (CACNA1E) (R-type calcium channel), and Calcium Voltage-Gated Channel Subunit Alpha1 I (CACNA1I) (T-type calcium channel) are significantly down-regulated in the gliomas compare with the normal brain tissue (Supplementary Figure 2), and the down-regulated expression of these three genes are strongly associated with the poor outcomes of the patients with gliomas (Figure 2A). This evidence concerns the gene CACNA1I and central nervous system cancer.
