Formononetin plays a protective role against the HT22 cell neurotoxicity induced by Aβ25-35 by participating in the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, increasing the activity of α-secretase and the release of sAPPα, accelerating the non-amyloidosis process of amyloid precursor protein (APP), and reducing the production of Aβ [48].
