In a recent study, researchers found that the expression level of LNK, a regulator of insulin signaling pathway, was elevated in ovaries of insulin resistant PCOS patients compared with the non-PCOS group, and the overexpression of LNK in ovarian granulosa cell line inhibited insulin induced AKT activation (Fraser et al., 2012). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
