In order to explore this possibility, we used EJ bladder carcinoma cell lines with tetracycline (tet)-regulatable p53, p21 or p16 expression systems (EJp53, EJp21 and EJp16, respectively), which undergo senescence after tet removal54–56 (Supplementary Fig. 2). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and urinary bladder carcinoma.
