Schiffer et al. transiently expressed 102 polyglutamine repeats in the N-terminal fragment of the HTT protein fused with GFP (Q102-GFP) in zebrafish and found an accumulation of this mutant protein in large SDS-insoluble inclusions in the zebrafish embryos, thus reproducing an important feature of the HD pathology. The gene discussed is HTT; the disease is Huntington disease.
