SERPINA1 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis: Detailed analysis revealed that, in our cohort of patients with advanced liver cirrhosis of various aetiologies, higher frequency of the MZ genotype was found only in the subgroups of patients with ALD and NASH, whereas carriage of the SERPINA1 MZ genotype was not a risk factor of liver cirrhosis in chronic liver diseases of viral, autoimmune, cholestatic and metabolic aetiologies.
