Based on the high expression levels of CXCL1–3 and CXCL8 in OC cells [13,14] and the high levels of CXCR2 in adipocytes [20], the CXCL1/8-CXCR2 axis is proposed as a molecular link between obesity and OC. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL1 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
