Heat shock protein 27 (HSP27), encoded by the HSPB1 gene, is a protein chaperone of the small heat shock protein group that is implicated in cancer cell survival, chemotherapy resistance, and other cancer-related processes across many cancer types, including gastric, colon, lung, and pancreatic cancers [11,12,13]. The gene discussed is HSPB1; the disease is pancreatic neoplasm.
