Given the absence of functional data suggesting a link between the rs1314913 SNP and RAD51B function, as well as the fact that none of the men in our cohort harboring a loss-of-function RAD51B allele presented with breast cancer, there appears to be minimal evidence of a cancer predisposition phenotype for loss-of-function RAD51B variants among men at this juncture. This evidence concerns the gene RAD51B and breast cancer.
