As expected, transplant of GML-mediated microbiota promoted butyric acid concentration, shaped Foxp3+ Treg differentiation in the LPLs, and shifted cytokine profiles at the gene and protein levels, including IL-10 and IL-6, which may in part be responsible for the significant amelioration of colitis-related status and symptoms caused by DSS. The gene discussed is GML; the disease is colitis.
