Examination of the STAU1 levels in proliferating human transformed cell lines HCT116 (colon cancer cells) and U2OS (osteosarcoma cells) at different stages of the cell cycle, indicated that STAU1 protein levels increase during the early phases of the cell cycle (S and G2 phases) and rapidly drops later in mitosis. The gene discussed is STAU1; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
