MIS-C patients had significantly increased levels of the chemokines monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1/CCL2) and interferon gamma-induced protein 10 (IP-10/CXCL10), higher levels of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and IL-18, but at the same time, higher levels of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and COVID-19–associated multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children.
