Cox proportional hazards models revealed that CD5L was an independent predictor of CV events (hazard ratio [HR], 1.17; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.0–1.36) after adjusting for CV risk factors such as age, sex, diabetes, waist circumference, smoking, systolic blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and CKD stage (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene CD5L and diabetes mellitus.
