This study has demonstrated that the pre-operative systemic inflammatory prognostic scores, namely the modified Glasgow prognostic score, the C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio and the neutrophil–platelet score, were all statistically significant prognostic factors for development of SSI in patients undergoing potentially curative resection of soft tissue sarcoma, with the latter also being an independent risk factor on multivariate analysis. Here, CRP is linked to soft tissue sarcoma.
