While it is known that PHLDA1/TDAG51 is induced by the UPR and is necessary for the development of TGF-β adenovirus-mediated peritoneal fibrosis [16], the mechanism by which TDAG51 affects the progression of fibrosis, and specifically renal interstitial fibrosis in CKD, has not yet been studied. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and chronic kidney disease.
